CORONAVIRUS: Bristol’s infection rate declines as rules are relaxed
Bristol's infection rate has once again declined over the last week with the figure remaining below the national average.
Bristols infection rate currently stands at 63 new coronavirus cases per 100,000 people. This is below the national average of 70 cases and is down from last weeks infection rate of 95 cases.
On Friday there were 90 patients in Bristol hospitals who'd tested positive for coronavirus. This is a decline of 33 patients from last Friday when there were 123 people in Bristol hospitals with coronavirus. In mid to late January that figure stood at around 600. However, local health and care facilities continue to be under great pressure.
