DEAD RUBBER: Robins welcome Stoke City to Ashton Gate
Good Friday sees Bristol City host Stoke City at Ashton Gate looking to improve their horrendous record at home.
The Robins haven’t won at Ashton Gate since January and although there has been a change in manager recently, Nigel Pearson hasn’t been able to impact their home form.
City will also want to avoid making it three games without a win following a 0-0 draw and 3-0 defeat before the break.
Pearson has gained seven points from his six games in charge and City now look to be sailing towards a mid-table finish.
With that in mind, the new manager may be forgiven for already looking to next season as the club will undoubtedly look for promotion in the next campaign.
Ashton Gate remains an unhappy home still for the Robins as it is now six straight defeats on their home turf.
Some confidence can be taken by Stoke’s away form as the visitors haven’t won on the road since the start of December, a run that has lasted 11 matches.
Just two of Bristol City’s 23 competitive home matches so far this season have ended as a draw.
A confidence boosting stat for the home side is that Stoke are on a four game winless run against the Robins and haven’t scored more than one goal in six straight meetings.
