FRED WEST CELLAR: Creepy footage shows the cellar that is being excavated
This creepy footage shows the cellar under a café being excavated as police look for a suspected victim of serial killer Fred West.
The photos and video is the first look inside the basement of the Clean Plate Cafe where officers are currently digging.
West was a regular at the cafeteria, then called the Pop-In Cafe, where Mary, 15, worked as a waitress.
She vanished in 1968 and was never seen again and for years people believed she was a victim of Fred West.
Last week a production company filming a documentary at the cafe tipped them off after finding an image of blue material.
Mary, who was last seen at a bus stop, was wearing a blue coat at the time.
Officers were called there on May 7 following suggestions a body may have been buried there.
Forensic teams have been searching the cellar of the Clean Plate Café premises in Gloucester for around two weeks.
Excavations began on Monday and police now released photos and a 30-second video clip.
In the footage chalk markings can be seen on the floor, which Gloucestershire Police say show areas highlighted for surveying work.
Shovels can also be seen, along with a sink basin.
Earlier this week police removed a creepy-looking dungeon-style door.
One officer was spotted carrying the bolted door with prison bars out of the Clean Pate and into a van.
