Heathers The Musical UK Tour, Bristol Review
Heathers credit - Pamela Raith
If I was Craig Revel-Horwood then this review would be very short it would simply be: “A-MA-ZING”, unfortunately I am not. So I’ll go into more detail.
From the very first note I knew I was in for a treat. I found my foot tapping right away. From the opening number I didn’t know where to look every single person in there own little high school bubble it was a spectacle and it just got better and better.
Rebecca Wickes was phenomenal in the role of Veronica Sawyer not only was her voice staggering but her comic timing was impeccable she had me laughing out loud on several occasions and the feeling was felt all through the audience.
All the supporting roles were yet again top notch with noticeable mentions going out to Liam Doyle and Rory Phelan who played jocks Kurt Kelly and Ram Sweeney Respectively; also the every line and movement had me in stitches not to mention I definitely need to know who their personal trainers are as they both made me regret coming to watch the show with a huge bag of sweets.
For a show that takes on so many strong isssues that are still relevant in todays world, it still managed to do it in a fun way and you will definitely be left wanting more.
Having seen the show years ago it was really nice to see how the show has evolved over time for the UK tour with the inclusion of new songs and ways of tellling the story of the iconic film.
If you get the chance to see this show somewhere on its tour then do not pass up the opportunity, even for people who aren’t big musical theatre fans I fell that this is one for all to enjoy. Take it from me, you’re welcome!
