LGBT+ CONVERSION THERAPY: Calls for government minister to resign
An equality advisor for the government - who quit on Wednesday - has said No 10 are “dragging their feet”.
Jayne Ozanne, a member of the government's LGBT+ Advisory Panel - criticised ministers for not acting swiftly enough when it came to the issue of so-called ‘gay conversion therapy’ and whether it should be banned.
Ozanne was one of three advisors on the LGBT+ advisory panel - which includes Liz Truss - to leave their post over the issue.
It follows a speech from Equalities Minister Kemi Badenoch in the Commons, in which she insisted ministers would “set out our next steps soon”.
It comes as Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer explained if his party were in power, conversion therapy would be banned.

A statement from No 10 explained “The government is committed to building a country in which everyone, no matter their sexuality, race or religion, is free to live their lives as they choose.”
