RICH FORM: Richarlison hands Everton another win against Southampton

Richarlison's opener was enough to give Everton three points against Southampton at Goodison Park.

After a long ball forward, Dominic Calvert Lewin challenged for possession in the air.

The ball fell to Gylfi Sigurdsson, who slotted Richarlison in on goal.

It was great movement from the Brazilian who slotted past the Saints keeper.

Richarlison has now scored five Premier League goals in 21 games.

VAR check

Everton thought they'd doubled their lead when Michael Keane headed the ball into the net.

However, a VAR check showed Mason Holgate was offside from the initial phase of play.

The goal was ruled out and Everton's breathing room remained small.

Late chances

Moussa Djenepo had a glorious chance to equalise late on but missed the target.

Southampton might have thought that would've been their last chance, but another game.

Jannik Vestergaard found the ball at his feet inside the Everton area with moments left.

With Jordan Pickford rushing out, the Saints defender didn't get a clear strike on goal, but was denied by the Everton stopper.

The win keeps Everton level on points with Liverpool and Champions League qualification is still well in their grasp.
