Grease The Musical at Bristol Hippodrome

Grease The Musical at Bristol Hippodrome

When going back to the theatre after 18 months away, you need to see something that will get you on your feet and  dancing. Grease is  just that musical. For those fans of the original Broadway musical this was the show for you.

You’re instantly transported back to the 1950s and away from all the 2021 issues. It’s like being back in school and having your biggest worry be that the girl you like doesn’t like you back, a real trip down memory lane.

A noticeable mention has to go to Ellie Kingdon for her portrayal of Sandy (Alternate) she was incredible in her professional debut. Her rendition of  “Hopelessly Devoted” was one of the best musical solo performances that I had seen in a very long time.

It would be very foolish of me not to talk about Peter Andre in his roles as  ‘Teen Angel’ and ‘Vince Fontaine’ who was hilarious and his presence was appreciated greatly by the a large proportion of the female members of the audience.

The entire cast brought something new to the well loved characters and the audience’s excitement every time the intro to one of the classics comes  on was such a wonder to be part of.

I would recommend this show to any who just wants to have a good sing song and a party. I can say without any voice of doubt that THIS IS THE ONE YOU WANT (to see).
